Colour by Numbers is a permanent light installation in an old telecommunication tower at Telefonplan, Stockholm, Sweden.  Anyone can change the colours in the tower with a mobile phone in real time.

Follow these steps to change the colour:

·       Download the app at App Store or Google Play.

·       Select the floors you wish to colour. You have a maximum of five minutes before you get logged out and it’s someone else’s turn to start colouring.

·       Choose your colours. Any colour can be created by mixing red, green and blue.

·       The colours you have chosen will be visible until someone changes them.

Colour by Numbers is switched off during the daytime.

Colour by Numbers was first inaugurated at Telefonplan on October 23, 2006, and continued until April 1, 2007.
The permanent installation was inaugurated January 14, 2011.
The installation was also displayed in the Perdigones Tower in Seville, Spain, during the Seville Biennial, from October 2, 2008 to January 11, 2009.

The tower at Telefonplan is 72 metres high and has 20 floors, of which the topmost ten are used in the light installation. The light installation is widely visible throughout Stockholm.

The project is created in a collaboration between Milo Galdi Lavén, Loove Broms and Erik Krikortz.
